Cassie grows up on sophomore album
Bad Boy R&B singer Cassie will release her as-yet-untitled sophomore album on May 20, and she says although “I hate to use the words grown-up, I really, really did since the last time around.”
“I guess I grew up a lot but I’m still in essence the same person,” says the 21-year-old singer. “Lots has changed in my life, stuff that has made me think about things differently. I’m more vulnerable and you can hear my vocals better this time around. There’s real emotion and a much realer connection with my fans.”

Cassie to front Diddy's new clothing line
Hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has further dismissed speculation he has dropped R&B singer Cassie from his record label – she’s to front his new clothing line for women. Combs was recently forced to deny reports she had been released from her contract with Bad Boy Records following poor sales of her debut album, and insists she is here to stay with her new appointment.
Diddy says Cassie hasn't been dropped - she's just busy working with Kanye & Pharrell
Diddy says he didn’t drop Cassie. Contrary to all the rumors on the urban-music blogs that started sprouting last week saying that singer/model Cassie had been released from Bad Boy Records, the multimillionaire mogul told MTV News on Wednesday that he’s not minus one Bad Girl.
Diddy plots Bad Boy invasion this summer
Sean “Diddy” Combs is planning a Bad Boy invasion this summer with his imprint releasing six new albums before the end of the year.
Yung Joc will kick things off with his sophomore album, Hustlenomics, which is slated to hits shelves on July 31. The set’s first single, “Coffee Shop”, which features Gorilla Zoe is already getting rotation on major radio stations.
Diddy shows off new stuff from Yung Joc - and himself, of course - at NYC event
The Bad Boy CEO previewed a slew of new music and ventures from his label that he plans to release in the next few weeks and months. Diddy’s new stuff ranged from his next Press Play single – the Mario Winans-assisted “Through the Pain” – to the first single from Yung Joc’s forthcoming sophomore set to a sneak-peek clip of the upcoming season of MTV’s “Making the Band 4”.
Cassie working on her sophomore album
Currently she is working on her sophomore album, which is currently untitled. Ryan Leslie and Robin Thicke have been confirmed producers. Rumor is that the album is supposed to be released Early Summer 2007.
2006's top 20 radio hits reported by USA Today
Blige’s total audience for 2006 (a figure derived from Nielsen BDS electronic airplay monitoring of radio stations in all formats and Arbitron radio-listening estimates) was more than 30% higher than that of runner-up Temperature, by Sean Paul. Be Without You spent nine weeks at No. 1, the calendar year’s longest-lasting chart-topper. Cassie’s Me & U had the second-longest stint at No.1: seven weeks.
Diddy: Year in review
While fans saw what Diddy toted as his final album fall rapidly down the charts after its number one debut, he still managed to pick up several successes under his belt – starting with the Making the Band 3 success Danity Kane. No one thought this group could do it with the misfits Da Band as ancestors (oh..and the name didn't help either). However, this five-girl group has managed to hit the platinum mark with little to no publicity. Following suit, the Atlanta bred Yung Joc and Cassie outperform expectations.

Cassie taking on Tokyo
Ryan Leslie and Cassie has been doing some promotion in Japan. Here’s what Ryan Leslie has been reporing all the way from Japan in his site.
Cassie really wowed Warner Japan with this showcase for the retailers called the Heatseeker's Convention. This was an interesting gig since the buyers responsible for stocking the music stores attended in suits and sat silently thru the performance. The event was run like a high-school assembly – with polite applause following each number. Nevertheless, we flipped the usual set by adding a live keyboard interlude that really allowed Cassie to connect with everyone.
Diddy and 'Hat of Forbidden Questions'
Sean ‘Diddy' Combs, recently sat down with Big Boy for his radio show, Big Boy's Neighborhood, and you know he had to participate and answer the infamous ‘Hat of Forbidden Questions.'

This is a good second week for Danity Kane. I though they would fall to more then 50 percent, but only fell 43 percent. There total sales so far are aroun 365,000 that is damn good. Cassie - debut album review
This is a very suprising debut album. If you thought Me & U was as good as it got for Cassie try understanding the sheer quality of her debut from Ryan Leslie’s Next Selection through Diddy’s Bad Boy Records Empire.
Surprisingly Diddy doesn’t produce or write a single track, however who needs him to when Ryan Leslie pulls off the quality he does here. A signature sound is a phrase that springs to my, but more importantly it is the close knitt relationship between R-Les and Cassie which makes this album a masterpiece.

Cassie interviewed by AllHipHop
The idea of someone packing up their life and fleeing to the Big Apple to pursue their love of “the biz” sounds ambitiously poetic. Many many late-teenagers do just that, and they often greet us at bars, restaurants, and just about every other place that has absolutely nothing to do with their passion. While the concept of “making it” always delivers overwhelming doubt, there are isolated moments in time where someone actually has that intangible something. One such instance is the story of Bad Boy/Next Selection recording artist, Cassie.

Cassie
Crowned the “Princess of NextSelection” by the producer behind the brand, Ryan Leslie, singer Cassie burst onto the New York music scene completely by accident. Ryan was downtown at club Marquee with Usher, and noticed a new face in the crowd that night. Weeks later, he was surprised to run into her again at Diddy’s birthday bash in November 2004. Aside from her multi-racial good looks (she’s Filipino and Black), he noticed something special about her personality, and was finally introduced to her by Diddy’s make-up artist, who had worked with her before on a photoshoot. A year later, there is a swirl of promise around this talented young artist from New London, CT.
Diddy and Mario's leading lady Cassie
Cassie began her modeling career at the age of 12, and has since been featured in Missy Elliott’s Respect M.E. Adidas campaign and played Mario’s leading lady in his video “Here I Go Again”. Last year music producer Ryan Leslie brought her into his NextSelection fold, letting the world know her voice is just as lovely as her face. Now with Tommy Mottola, Diddy and all of MySpace.com paying attention you know she is a Player to Watch.
Cheri's chocolate
Cassie pointed out that the Cheri Dennis record, “I Love You”, appeared on the Billboard charts without listing any producer or writer credits… What a suprise – especially since there was enough fanfare around the single to make a special chocolate to send out to radio stations with her song…
Check the video.
